I build things — and I can help you build yours.

I'm an engineer, maker and technical lead with over a decade of building behind me — robots, drones, businesses, the software that runs them and the teams that ship them. I help tech-curious businesses build, ship and look after their systems, with AI woven into the workflow.

About
I spend most of my time building things and writing about what I learn doing it. The writing isn't separate from the work — it's how I figure out what I actually think. If something I've shipped or written is useful to you, that's the point. If you want someone to build or fix something, I'm occasionally available.

§4Work with me

I take on a small number of engagements each year. I'm a better fit for teams who want someone who'll read the codebase before the brief, write things down as we go, and leave the system in better shape than they found it[1].

I work across audits and architecture reviews, embedded engineering stints, and end-to-end builds with proper handovers. AI is in the loop throughout — in code review, spec drafting, incident response — but it's never the headline.

Email is best. I answer everything within two working days, even the ones where I say no.
